Multispectral Digital Imaging captures images in a format that is easily imported and analyzed by Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Image Processing, and Computer Aided design software.
There are many uses for digital aerial photography, because it provides much more information than conventional photography.

Digital aerial photography can be used to monitor growth, fire problems, infestations, insecticide coverage, fertilization, and irrigation of forest lands. The imagery can be used as a check to see if any of these programs are being used effectively. Color Infrared imagery can see potential problems long before the human eye can.
As an example you would see the start of Pine Beetle infestation before it becomes a serious situation. The data can be updated quickly to enable analysis of methods to determine if these methods are effective. Following a fire situation, images captured digitally can be used HOT, right out of the airplane to determine the amount of loss. Mosaics are also available.
